The book corner : a review of two sources of Harley accessory ideas

We have reviewed two books from writers who provide great harley accessory ideas and tips. The authors clearly have been there and have done it and they have put their knowledge and experience on paper.

Acccessories for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, by Marc Cook

If you are looking for Harley accessory ideas and tips, this book will give you by far much more than the title suggests. First it is "A Guide to Personalizing Your Harley Davidson Bike". Second it is full of great photos and charts. Third, it is loaded with great content : Paint, Seats, Handlebars and Foot Controls, Powertrain, Suspension, Wheels and brakes and valuable tips : Installing inspection covers, re-jetting the carb, how to lower your bike (and why you may not want to), practical advice on changing handlebars, choosing an exhaust system, and setting up your suspension. Of course this is just the tip of the iceberg !

The book covers any Harley Davidson accessory you can think of and is also a great guide to explore ways to modify your favourite bike !

101 Harley-Davidson Performance Projects: For Evolution Big Twins and Sportsters (101 Projects) by Kenna Love, Kip Woodring

If you can only afford one Harley Accessory Book, this one is worth the investment. Projects are clearly laid out and well written and is complemented with sharp color pictures. The book is a great resource to get your creative mind into gear ! And it is a great guide to gradually master the mechanical challenges that your Harley-Davidson will throw at you.

The book also covers current up-to-date issues such as the use of a Twin Cam oil filter for Softails for screening out finer particles or the de-federalizing of your CV carb or on the advice for a "five-quart" oil change.

This is not a coffee table book, it gets an above average mark in the tech manual category. For more information on this great Harley accessory resource, click here.
